 JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a full time Office Assistant for our busy Burnaby manufacturing facility, this role is ideal for a confident, self starter that works well in a fast pace environment. You are an extraordinary multi-tasker that will report to our General Manager and assist in everyday responsibilities in running the front end of the business in the most efficient manner. Follow up with customers, answering phones and transferring calls to the appropriate individual. Provides administrative/clerical support and duties as needed.

The Office Assistant must also have solid computer skills and be able to work independently, be proactive, responsible and reliable. The ideal candidate is proficient in Microsoft Office and is dependable team player with excellent communication skills.

Additionally, the office assistant typically helps to keep the work areas of the office organized and tidy. The assistant also may be called upon to perform errands on a typical workday. This can include tasks like delivering or picking up documents, orders or securing lunch for the office on busy days when others work at their desks.

Responsibilities

Answer phones, direct calls and take messages.
Perform invoices, report generation, sales data
Perform clerical duties such as update all office filing, courier, proof reading, database system, work orders, purchase orders, arrange for shipping
Provide administrative/clerical support for the office team. Open, sort and route incoming mail, answer correspondence and prepare outgoing mail.
Customer Service
Operate office machines; photocopiers and scanners, facsimile machines, voice mail systems and personal computers.
Photocopier maintenance & ensuring all copiers and printers have inventory of paper, and other office supplies
Ensuring common areas are always clean and tidy
Requirements

Must have a high school diploma
Office administration experience
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal plus strong computer skills
Self motivated and able to complete projects with limited supervision.
Possesses a positive can-do attitude and understand the value of providing amazing customer service
Highly organized and flexible; you are comfortable in fast-paced environments and can adapt as/when plans change to meet changing deadlines
Shows initiative, takes pride in their work
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Detail-oriented with a proven ability to work with a high degree of accuracy
Excellent telephone manner and professional customer service skills
Sales experience an asset
Proficient in MS Word, internet, data base, keyboard skills 50-60 wpm and working knowledge on various operating systems
Hourly pay: MIN of $15/hr up to $18/hr
