The Textile Laboratory Technician will perform duties related to Quality Assurance testing of Stormtech products; including but not limited to physical testing, stability testing, colorfastness testing, product shelf life testing, other material performance testing, record keeping, KPI’s, etc.

The Laboratory Technician will participate as a member of the Quality Control and Product Development team; execute testing projects in timely, diligent, safe, and professional manner.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
Responsible for performing various industry standard AATCC and ASTM test methods as follows;
Colorfastness tests methods i.e Colorfastness to Laundering, Dye transfer in storage, water, etc
Dimensional changes in Commercial Laundering, pilling resistance, Snagging resistance, stretch properties, fabric weight, fabric count, etc
Fabric strength evaluation
Water repellency; Spray test, Oil Repellency, Yellowing test, etc
Manually prepare and assemble testing specimens for each testing project
Responsible for evaluating qualities before and after testing, analyzing the test results based on AATCC/ASTM standard replicas and requirements and tolerances as per Supplier Guideline.
Calibrate all the testing equipment and maintain service up to date for all tools and equipment.
Perform Visual Color evaluation and provide pass/fail rating with clear direction and communicate with mills / suppliers accordingly.
Document test results accurately in the test reports, provide rating and analysis results as per request, and communicate accordingly with management level, mills / suppliers.
Summarize color evaluations, test results, statistical analysis, conclusions, and recommendations in technical reports, maintain accurate database.
Evaluate factory test reports, communicate with factories on any quality matters, test results discrepancies, etc.
Liaise with 3rd party Testing Service for follow up on any sample testing and discuss reports and results.
Maintain up to date MCS & MQS Fabric Library.
Other duties may be assigned by the upper management.

WHO YOU ARE
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:
Bachelor degree in Textile engineering preferred.
5 to 10 years in textile laboratory testing experience.
Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks, knowledge of performance knits and woven materials, hands on mechanical aptitude
Experience using basic Testing lab equipment like Launderometer, Crockmeter, Perspirometer, Random Tumble Pilling tester, Snagging tester, Tensile testing machine, Spray test, Water resistance tester, Spray tester, Wrinkle tester
Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing project priorities and workloads.
Proven team player with strong interpersonal skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Performs well under pressure and can meet deadlines.
Organization & time management capabilities.
