Our Company: HX Industrial Control is a division of a successful China mining equipment manufacturer. The parent company was established in 2003 and now has over 1,000 employees. We are expanding our business in Canada and looking for a Technician, Mechanical Engineering to expand our services and offerings to the Canadian marketplace.

Location: Saskatoon, SK

Position Summary: The Technician, Mechanical Engineering is responsible for inspecting, repairing, replacing and servicing mechanical equipment, such as permanent magnet motors, VFDs, belt conveyors, transformer, and cranes. This person will also work to find new sales leads, through "cold calling", business directories, client referrals, or visiting new or existing client, and find out what they want, create solutions and ensure a smooth sales process.

Equipment Mechanic Job Functions:
· Tests machines and equipment
· Prepares standards and schedules
· Prepares contracts and tenders
· Prepares and interpret engineering design, drawings and specifications
· Estimates costs and materials
· Assists in inspection of mechanical installations
· Assists in preparing design, drawings and specifications
· Carries out a limited range of mechanical tests and analyses of machines, components and materials
· Participates in machinery installation, repair and maintenance
· Assists in the design of moulds, tools, dies, jigs and fixtures
· Undertakes other duties as assigned

Sales Support Job Functions:
· Presents, promotes and sells products/services using solid arguments to existing and prospective customers
· Establishes, develops and maintains positive business and customer relationships
· Reaches out to customer leads through cold calling
· Expedites the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction
· Plans and attends local and regional tradeshows to exhibit our products and services
· Provides marketing tracking and research information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
· Maintains trusting relationships with suppliers, customers and colleagues
· Performs other duties when needed

Education & Experience:
· A post-secondary degree/diploma and or related experience in repair & maintenance field is an asset
· Experience with tools and processes utilized in the repair and maintenance of mining, oil and gas equipment
· Proven work experience as a sales representative
· Bilingual in English and Mandarin is preferred

Travel:
· Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected

Physical Requirement:
· Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
· Lifts and handles medium to heavy weight materials, such as equipment and tools
