JKWG Development Inc. is based in Coquitlam BC, focusing on master-planned and mixed-use communities, high rise condominiums, shopping centers, offices and commercial buildings, multi-family project, mainly located in great Vancouver. Job Summary
The Project Coordinator will support the Project Manager, and partners with our project site teams to assist in the planning, direction and management of all activities related to the successful execution of major projects.
Responsibilities
Support the Project Manager and the Construction team with the delivery of construction projects on time, to budget and to highest quality
Proactively assist the Project Manager with all aspects of the project from initiation, through planning, cost sign-off, contractor selection, owner approvals, work onsite, handover, and final accounts / project closure
Support the project team with issue resolution, providing reports, documentation, costings, etc. to ensure first-class delivery
With direction from the Project Manager, ensure all documentation is kept up-to-date and well organized
Assist Project Manager with ensuring that the delivery of project is in line with approved design standards, by researching and recommending solutions to design issues and problems
Monitor project quality plans to ensure compliance; manage all document control activities
Ensure highest standards of safety and are achieved through working with Site Safety Officer and project teams to build effective safety plans
Provide up-to-date project information on progress, ensuring clear project reporting is always available
Identify and manage project risk to ensure right first-time projects, every time
Develop strong working relationships with the Owner and Architect to ensure repeat business
Coach and develop junior staff on projects with the goal to Elevate each team member to excel
Endeavor to take on additional assignments and responsibilities to meet the objectives of the project
Job Qualifications
A Construction or Engineering degree or an equivalent combination of technical training, plus two-years of experience and knowledge of construction, design, finance, and management required.
Candidates with work or co-op experience during their studies who show exceptional common-sense skills paired with a great ability to learn quickly, think on their feet, and stay one step ahead will be considered. Please demonstrate this in your application to be considered.
Must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance
Thorough understanding of corporate and industry best practices, process, standards, and their impact on project activities is vital
Superior communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence) skills is essential
