Fire Assay Technician I- 3 months contract offer. Possible permanent position avaailabe after 3 months time.

Morning shift available from 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Carry out fire assay procedures in accordance with documented SOP’s or recognized standard reference methods
Comply and conform to the Quality Management System (ISO 9001 and ISO 17025)
Maintain up-to-date logs of relevant documentation
Act in a safe and professional manner and wear appropriate attire including the required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Communicate general laboratory issues to the Fire Assay Supervisor as appropriate
Ensure proper functioning of fire assay operations by:
Monitoring the performance of the instruments
Ensuring adequate inventory of laboratory consumable supplies and chemicals
Practicing good housekeeping
Some lifting is required, up to 50lbs
Perform other duties as required by Management
Submit to testing for lead exposure on a regular basis

Starting wage $21/hr.
